Nestlé Moves to Lower Carbon Alternatives for Shipping

Working with three of the world's largest shipping companies, Nestlé will move the equivalent of half of its global shipping needs to alternative, lower-emission fuels with immediate effect. By switching to cargo ships that use fuels made from waste, such as used cooking oil, the company aims to reduce its annual greenhouse gas emissions from shipping by around 200 000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent. 

Cal Fire Awards $15 Million In Businesses And Workforce Development Grants

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Wood Products and Bioenergy Grants Program is announcing $15 million has been awarded for 16projects across the state. These projects will fund expansion in workforce development and businesses involved in creating healthy, resilient forests across the state as outlined in California’s Wildfire and ForestResilience Action Plan. 

Vestas Secures 1,089 MW Order with Pattern Energy in the US

Vestas has secured a firm order from Pattern Energy to power a major portion of its SunZia Wind project in New Mexico. It is Vestas’ largest order to date in the U.S. market and the largest single onshore project globally. Consisting of 242 V163-4.5 MW turbines, the 1.1 GW order is also the largest order globally for Vestas’ newest high-capacity factor turbine.

NYK Conducts Long-Term Trial for Full-Scale Introduction of Biofuels

Starting in fiscal 2024, NYK will conduct full-scale trials of long-term use of biofuels, which are considered to have net-zero CO2 emissions, in navigating its existing heavy oil-fired vessels. Moving forward from the previous short-term trials, NYK will  verify the safety and stable procurement of biofuels when used over a long period. 

RWE Acquires 4.2-GW UK Offshore Wind Development Portfolio From Vattenfall

RWE will acquire the UK Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone portfolio from Vattenfall. The portfolio comprises three offshore wind development projects off the east coast of England – Norfolk Vanguard West, Norfolk Vanguard East and Norfolk Boreas.

Ingeteam O&M Services End the Year With Record Figures for Maintained Power

Ingeteam O&M Services will end 2023 with growth of more than 18%, which equates to a maintained capacity of 27 GW. This growth is partially due to the growth of its Mexican portfolio, where Ingeteam O&M Service has achieved historic results this year that will enable it to exceed 1.3 GW of maintained power, increase its workforce in the country, and sign contracts for support equipment at the new facilities.

Nikola And FirstElement Forge 10-Year Partnership To Advance Hydrogen Fueling Infrastructure

Nikola Corporation and FirstElement Fuel have formalized a 10-year agreement to refuel Nikola's hydrogen fuel cell electric truck at FEF's hydrogen refueling station in Oakland, Calif. This collaboration unifies their commitment to driving the widespread adoption of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and marks a step towards a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.
