Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) has agreed to sell Ørsted its 25% equity stake in the Ocean Wind 1 offshore wind energy project, providing Ørsted with 100% ownership of the project. Ørsted, America's largest offshore wind energy company, will proceed with development of the project with PSEG supporting onshore infrastructure construction.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the winners of the third and final phase of the Hydropower Operations Optimization (H2Os) Prize. Revel, a Brooklyn-based electric mobility and infrastructure company, announced it is developing and opening five new electric vehicle (EV) fast charging Superhubs in New York City, adding 136 public charging stalls to New York's EV infrastructure landscape. Like Revel's flagship Superhub in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, the five new sites will be open 24/7 and accessible to any brand of EV. The world appears to be rapidly shifting away from fossil fuels as a source of grid energy and towards renewable sources that don’t emit greenhouse gases. The fact that utility wind and solar PV are the fastest growing sources of grid energy in the US is concrete evidence of the progress being made. And when nuclear energy is included in the mix of non-fossil energy sources, we see that nearly 40% of domestic grid energy now comes from carbon-free sources. That’s a 50% increase over 2012 levels.

LanzaJet, a leading sustainable fuels technology company and sustainable fuels producer, joined government officials, industry leaders, and investors to celebrate a major construction milestone at the LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels facility in Soperton, Georgia. LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels is the world’s first ethanol-based alcohol-to-jet sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production plant. Construction will be completed in 2023 with commission and startup beginning next year. The plant will produce 10 million gallons of SAF and renewable diesel per year from ethanol, using a range of sustainable, low carbon intensity ethanol, including from waste-based feedstocks. LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels will approximately double the amount of current SAF production in the United States.
