Boeing, NASA, United Airlines To Test SAF Benefits with Air-to-Air Flights

In a collaboration to strengthen sustainability in aviation, Boeing is partnering with NASA and United Airlines for in-flight testing to measure how sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) affects contrails and non-carbon emissions, in addition to reducing the fuel's life cycle climate impact.

Tucson Electric Power to Build  Large Battery Energy Storage System

Tucson Electric Power will build a large battery energy storage system in southeast Tucson to help satisfy customers’ everyday energy needs with abundant, low-cost solar energy. TEP’s Roadrunner Reserve system will serve as the largest energy storage system in TEP's portfolio and among the largest in Arizona. The 200-megawatt (MW) system can store 800 megawatt hours of energy, enough to serve approximately 42,000 homes for four hours when deploying at full capacity. The system is scheduled to begin operation in summer 2025.

PGE and Ørsted to Supply Key Components for Offshore Part of Baltica 2

PGE Group and Ørsted have signed another agreement for supply of foundations for Baltica 2 – one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. This is the last contract relating to key components for the offshore part of Baltica 2, closing so-called Tier 1 level of the investment.

Veolia Operates First Solar Car Park to Deliver Renewable Energy for UK Hospital

Veolia, working with 3ti solar car park specialists, have started renewable electricity generation at Eastbourne District General Hospital. By installing a new Solar Car Park the hospital is the first in the UK to take this step which will produce 1,000 MWh of solar-generated electricity annually, and lower CO2 emissions by 222 tons in the first year.

Enel S.p.A., acting through its fully-owned subsidiary Enel Green Power North America Inc. , has signed an agreement with Ormat Technologies Inc., for the sale of a renewable asset portfolio in the US for a total consideration of $271 million, subject to adjustments customary for these kinds of transactions. The portfolio consists of approximately 150 MW of operational geothermal and solar facilities.

Repsol Begins Producing Renewable Hydrogen at Petronor

Repsol has begun producing renewable hydrogen at its Petronor industrial center in Biscay, Spain. The 2.5 MW electrolyzer can generate 350 tons per year of renewable hydrogen for industrial use, mainly in the refinery, as a raw material for manufacturing products with a lower carbon footprint.
