EDF Renewables UK and Ireland has acquired SAS Energy which provides solar technology for use in the commercial and industrial sectors. The move is dsigned to strengthen EDF Renewables' current position within the industry. SAS Energy became a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF Renewables UK on Sept. 15, bringing with it a team of 30 and a portfolio including more than 45 projects in development and construction.

Fluence Energy, Inc., a provider of energy storage products and services, and optimization software for renewables and storage, announced that it has been selected by Tilt Renewables to deliver the Latrobe Valley Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The Latrobe Valley BESS will be a 100 MW / 200 MWh battery-based energy storage system located south of Morwell in Victoria, Australia. It will be the first privately funded storage project in Australia to be incorporated into an exclusively renewable generation fleet.

Veolia Increases Solar Power Capacity by 59MW

Global resource management company, Veolia, is now providing an additional 59MWp of renewable electricity capacity following the start of operations at the UK’s largest solar array on a restored landfill area.
